We will be performing maintenance on our core routers in Denver on May 1st, 12:00am-3am CST
We will be upgrading version of IOS to deal with recent performance issues we have been experiencing in Denver for past few weeks.
The routers might have to be rebooted during the maintenance window which may cause 5-10 minutes of network downtime.

This announcement impacts only customers who use Internap bandwidth. BGP customers are not affected.
Our Cross connect with Internap went offline on Monday 2/1/10. The traffic was automatically re-routed through the BGP segment to avoid any downtime. We expect the issue to be resolved by Thursday 2/4/10 afternoon The traffic will be re-routed back through Internap as soon the cross connect is back online.

We will be performing a migration of Naru from Chicago to Denver over the weekend of 11-12th of april.
We will also be migrating the hardware and upgrading the unit to a much more powerful server to provide better performance. The new location also increases our available bandwidth for the service and will give much better throughput to the vast majority of our users. This is part of a new peering arrangement with Async.us which will also allow better connectivity to their content delivery network aswell as provide us with a POP in Denver.
During the migration period, access to the sites and email including this site, will be unavailable for a certain period of time. We will migrate each site over in sections and then direct traffic to the new location once tested. Web connectivity should remain for the most part with only minor disruption at the switch over point. Incoming email will be unavailable for approx 1 day while the mailboxes are moved, mail arriving during this period will be spooled and delvered later. Acess to mailboxs will still be available via webmail, however we do not reccommend sending new mails during this period as they may not be delivered.

We have updated and tightened our published SPF records today and also attempted to fix the Paypal issue. This should reduce the amount of forged email a little more.
A message to anyone who thinks the recieved spam “from” us.
Firstly – no you didnt. It was not from us at all.
Spammers forge email headers and addresses – you need (or tell your ISP) to configure their mail servers to perform SPF checks on incoming mail.
We publish SPF with the most strict setting possible – if your mail server does its job it WILL reject forged mail on our domain. We dont send spam. We dont do opt-in/opt-out lists or any form of marketing mail either, we dont mail anyone with anything other than personal mail or support mail from our staff. We dont have any newsletters, or any mailing lists at all.
Help rid the world of spam, ask your mail provider to support SPF and Spamhause RBL. We support and use both for ALL our domains and clients as standard, for no extra charge.

During the early hours of yesterday morning GMT (midday SGT) several sites were migrated from Buzz in Singapore to Naru in Chicago, this was done as an emergency migration as Buzz is in need of a complete rebuild. As a result the itsFido Singapore and Japan sites were offline along with access to webmail for the sites being moved.
Please note that the Preferences and identities in Horde webmail were reset, and may need to be configured again if you were not using the defaults. The address book, folders and all mail should all be fine however.
All services and sites are now fully back up and working, if there are issues with your sites please contact us.
Sorry for any inconvenience.

Earlier today we lost connectivity to our main servers in Singapore, as a result DNS email and all of the itsfido hosted sites except for the .co.uk site are offline. Unfortunatly this server was also hosting the DNS for maikuando tv which is actually hosted off site.
All services have now been restored.
Update
The outage was caused by one of our backup MX being hijacked and was sending out mass spam email, which resulted in the provider (correctly) disconnecting the line.
The offending mail server has now been shut down and firewalled off as a precaution. We have discovered around 47,000 emails stuck in the queue on that server.
We apologise to anyone who has recieved spam which was routed via our server.
itsFido Admin.

We will be re-locating 48-Ubi-Sing which handles the itsFido Singapore Website and email tonight.
The site, webmail and local mail will be unavailable for approx 6 hours from 4am to 11am early Saturday morning Singapore Local time. Following this for the rest of the day there maybe some reduced performance with DNS while the changes propagate.
Any email sent to itsFido addresses in Singapore will be held on our backup mail system until the mailboxes become available again.

From the 1st of October 2008, we will no longer directly offer shared hosting, Virtual servers, dedicated servers or any of our Telecomes and Broadband services in the UK. Instead we have joined up with the Xylene Community to create a new project called XyFi, XyFi is a new technical community offering web hosting, secondary DNS and email for free. The XyFi project will replace our UK based hosting services.
For customers looking for FreeBSD Jails and co-location services in London, we would like to recommend Exonetric, who have provided ALL of itsFido’s co-location and rack hosting in London Telehouse for many years without a single fault or any downtime.
itsFido will continue to offer Plesk hosting, Virtual Servers, Dedicated Servers and Co-location in Singapore without interruption.
